At Core Medical and Physio, back pain is the most common injury we see
and our expert therapist has a proven track record at getting optimal results.
Appropriate early management, comprehensive assessments, an individually tailored treatment and rehabilitation program are the keys to a great outcome.
Lower back pain is an extremely common condition affecting people of all ages and activity levels. Up to 80% of the population will experience back pain at some time during their lives. Although the underlying pathology of back pain is usually not serious, it is a significant cause of pain and disability in the community. Whilst majority of patients with back pain recover within 6 weeks, a small number unfortunately progress to develop chronic back pain and experience a gradual deterioration in their functionality.
The recurrence rate of low back pain is high with a 44% recurrence rate within a year of their initial injury, and 90% within their lifetime. The reason to high recurrences is due low value treatments focusing only on the symptoms of back pain, such as pain and stiffness. The underlying causes of the injury is neglected and as such rehabilitation is inadequate.
We take the time to thoroughly assess your back injury to determine the underlying source of your pain and all contributing factors, not just your symptoms. The research advises against “cookie cutter” approaches towards treating back pain.
